Experimental physics in extreme conditions

Objective

The research aims at the experimental study of fundamental condensed matter in extreme conditions, such as extremely low temperatures or in high magnetic fields.

The research topics to be investigated will be: coherent states of quantum electronic systems; charge density waves and spin density waves in one-dimensional conductors, superconductors with restricted dimensionality: high magnetic field, low temperature studies; coherent quantum phenomena in 3He at ultralow temperatures: homogeneously precessing domains and presistent spin precession; search for the superfluidity of 2-dimensional 3He; physics of highly correlated electronic gases: Quantum Hall effect, Wigner crystal; and electron spin resonance in high magnetic fields.
