A lawyers' scientific network for research into social protection in economies in transition

Objective

The aims and objectives of this research networking project are to establish a permanent and intensive network, dealing with the legal aspects of social protection; to encourage active co-operation in concrete research projects; and to introduce NIS scientists to western methodology and research techniques. Mutual exchange of information, documentation and results of research will help to develop a system of communication on an international level.

The networking consortium includes west European scientific institutions with extensive experience in former projects (Erasmus and Tempus) as well as qualified NIS institutions. In informal contacts these institutions have shown their ability and willingness to co-operate. The fact that they have already started some activities and research in the field of social protection and the fact that their researchers speak English are major advantages.

The networking activities will lead to a preparatory meeting with all partners, the starting up of small libraries, the formation of mixed research teams, stage periods, seminars and workshops, a closing conference and permanent mutual exchange of information.

In addition, the activities aim to create a permanent international scientific network that, with the help of western methodology and know-how, can provide early support for policy-making and implementation in the field of social protection.
