Linear algebraic groups, algebraic K-theory, and related structures in algebra and topology

Objective

The project aim at intensifying joint research of groups of scientists from Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Russia and from France and Germany in the fields of linear algebraic groups, algebraic K-theory and related structures in algebra and topology.

The joint research will be organized through mutual visits, including joint conferences, at one of the participating laboratories. The project will provide sponsorship for young and gifted mathematicians and support the installation of computer equipment at NIS laboratories required for the joint research. The main research objectives of the project are topics within the two fields linear algebraic groups and algebraic K-theory as well as their mutual dependence. Examples of related structures in algebra and topology in the sense of this project are: Azumaya algebra, Lie algebra, quadratic forms, projective homogeneous varieties, K-theory of schemes and applications to algebraic geometry, topological Hochschild homology, manifolds and their automorphisms as described by the keywords pseudo-isotopy and K-theory of topological spaces.
