Objective
The ''adjusted'' sorbents is a new class of ion exchange resins having the principally improved properties. The innovation of such sorbents was done by the project participants. The aims of the project are:
to develop the method of these sorbent synthesises;
to introduce a methodology to estimate the ''adjustment'' degree;
to obtain sorbents ''adjusted'' toward Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) as well as
toward some organic acids;
to create the polymeric catalysts for the selective conjugated oxidising of
different stances. The work will be based on the careful studying of all processes involved including the direct spectroscopic investigation of the resin phase (the methods was introduced by the project participants). The influence of different factors on the equilibrium and catalytic properties will be tested. The wide cooperation of the different scientific groups (Dr. Muhammed, Sweden - physical chemistry of the sorption and ion exchange processes; Professor Wohrle, Germany - chemistry of complexation; Professor Molochnikov, Russia - spectroscopic researches; Professor Efendiev, Azerbaijan and Professor Ciardelli, Italy - synthetic chemistry; Dr. Menshikov, Russia - catalysis) provide an excellent opportunity to create the theoretical background of synthesises and use of the ''adjusted'' sorbents. The sorbents proposed could be an efficient replacement for the nonselective sorbents which are used in hydrometallurgy, environmental cleaning, chemical industry, pharmacy, etc. The modelling of the metalo- enzymes by the ''adjusted'' sorbents could be proposed in future.
