HYBRID TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAMME

Objective

To develop a training programme for technicians employed in the manufactoring sector. To train them in world class manufacturing technology and systems involving new technologies . Establish a model to enable firms provide qualified persons with the skills necessary to cope with future technological needs in industry.

MAIN DOMAIN OF INNOVATION:

Innovative training needs analysis with a special focus on core/key qualifications. FAS is jointly developing this programme in conjunction with local industry in Cork.

TARGET GROUP(S):

People working in SMEs.

OPERATING CONTEXT:

Competitiveness. Quality assurance development. Productivity improvement.

TECHNOLOGY:

Industrial and materials technologies. New technology and systems for manufacturing industry.

INVOLVEMENT WITH ENTERPRISES:

Partnership with SMEs consortia. Training institute-enterprise cooperation. Cork Electronics Industry Association.

INVOLVEMENT OF SOCIAL PARTNERS:

FAS is governed by a Board representing the social partners.

RESULTS:

Innovative training materials. Transferable models and concepts. Model developed. An agreed certification will be awarded to participants for each of the 13 modules of the programme.
