Objective
This proposal has as its goal to demonstrate biomass integrated gasification, gas turbine combined cycle (BIG-GT) technology in the largest installation this far o by constructing a large, 32 MW net electrical, power plant in Brazil for demonstration and commercial operation based o, eucalyptus wood from plantations. In the plant tests will also be performed with agricultural residues (sugar cane bagasee etc) available locally in large quantities. To prepare for such commercial tests, a R&D program is also proposed. The overall objective of the R&D part is to establish the technical and other requirements necessary, e.g. fuel recovery technology and cost, pilot plant and prototype testing, to proceed into a large scale demonstration of a power plant BIG-GT plant fuelled by an agrofuel, sugar cane wastes, to access the huge energy and emission reduction potential of the sugar cane industry.
