Objective

The aim of the project is to give a field demonstration of a membrane separator which enables the oily water produced on oil & gasfields to be cleaned to the required specifications for discharge into the environment. An industrial prototype will be built and integrated in the process installation of an offshore platform in the North Sea. This demonstration will prove the efficiency and operability of the new cleaning technique; the critical aspect to be demonstrated will be the long term reliability of the membranes when operating in industrial conditions offshore. The novelty lies in the application of the membrane separation technique
