Objective
To demonstrate and promote the use of PV generators in combination with wind generators to power TV repeater stations which are located far from the main electricity grid in Portugal.
The proposal for the project is to construct four TV repeater stations, powered by PV and wind hybrid systems, at remote sites in Portugal in order to investigate the feasibility for the commercial application of such systems in Portugal, Azores and Madeira.
Each power system consists of a PV array of 55 Wp modules, plus horizontal axis, 3-blade wind turbines with brushless AC generator, battery storage and charge control equipment working at a common voltage of 48 Volts DC. Nr. of subsystems : 4
