RASimAs: Simulating anaesthesia outcome
A better outlook for those about to undergo surgery or have a child: The RASimAs project is working on a virtual reality simulator for doctors who are performing regional (or spinal) anaesthesia. This tool supports prediction and avoidance of possible complications during regional anaesthesia providing a precise anatomy of every single patient.
The new virtual reality platform would both train medical doctors and assist them while performing regional anaesthesia – including so called spinal anaesthesia or an epidural, which are applied frequently for women giving birth and C-sections.
