IRON PRECIPITATION BY OXYGEN IN ACID CUPRIC CHLORIDE SOLUTIONS FROM COMPLEX ORES LEACHING

TO OBTAIN A COMPLETE IRON PRECIPITATION WITHOUT ANY COPPER REMOVAL AND TO OBTAIN A VALUABLE PRECIPITATE

THE AIM OF THIS WORK IS TO STUDY IRON REMOVAL BY PURE MOLECULAR OXIGEN IN ACID CHLORIDE SOLUTIONS ISSUED FROM THE LEACHING OF SULFUR COMPLEX ORES OD COPPER, ZINC AND LEAD IN HYDROMETALLURGICAL TREATMENTS.

THIS WORK IS AN EXTENSION OF THE FIRST CONTRACT IN WHICH WERE STUDIED THE FERROUS CHLORIDE OXIDATION KINETICS AND THE FERRIC PRECIPITATION IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE FERRIC CHLORIDE LIQUORS LEACHING PROCESS. THE MAIN CHARACTERISTIC OF THE FERRIC CHLORIDE LIQUORS LEACHING PROCESS. THE MAIN CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS PROCESS IS ITS ABILITY TO REMOVE THE EXCESS IRON AND TO REGENERATE SIMULTANEOUSLY THE FERROCHLORIDE IN THE LEACHING LIQUOR.

IN THIS NEW WORK, ATTENTION WILL BE FOCUSED ON THE CASE OF CUPRIC CHLORIDE LIQUOR LEACHING PROCESS AS PROPOSED BY MINEMET. THE RATIO :FE - T / CU - T IN SOLUTION IS DECREASING FROM 10 (FIRST CONTRACT ) TO 0.1

THE NEW KINETICS LAW OF OXIDIZATION AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE DIFFERENT PARAMETERS - PO2, O2, PH, TO REACH A COMPLETE IRON REMOVAL WILL BE STUDIED.

IN COLLABORATION WITH MINEMET RECHERCHE THESE PARAMETERS WILL BE OPTIMIZED TO OBTAIN A GOOD FILTRATION, WASHING, OF THE PRECIPITATES IN VIEW OF THEIR FURTHER VALORIZATION.
