COMPOSTING AS A SOLID WASTE MANAGMENT ALTERNATIVE END ENERGY RECOVERY FOR AGRICULTURE

Obiettivo

TO REDUCE POLLUTION WITH SOLID WASTE DEPOSITS ON SOIL, TO RECOVER ENERGY FROM WASTE (AS COMPOST), TO ASSESS THE FERTILIZING VALUE OF THE COMPOST AND EVENTUALLY ITS SIDE EFFECTS AS A SOIL CONTAMINANT.

THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO OBTAIN A PRACTICAL SYSTEM TO TRANSFORM SOLID URBAN WASTE INTO COMPOST TO BE USED IN AGRICULTURE AS AN ORGANIC FERTILIZER. THE PROCES WILL BE PERFORMED WITHOUT THE USE OF COSTLY AND COMPLEX MACHINERIES, WITH THE SYSTEM OF STATIC PILE VENTILATED WITH FORCED AIR FROM THE BOTTOM AND WITH THE FEED BACK CONTROL OF TEMPERATURE. THE COMPOST OBTAINED WILL BE ANALYSED AND QUALITY STANDARDS WILL BE GIVEN. CHEMICAL, MICROBIOLOGICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL ANALYSES WILL BE USED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE FERTILIZER VALUE OF COMPOST AND THE ABSENCE OF PHYTOTOXICITY.
