Obiettivo TO VALIDATE A POLLUTION DIFFUSION MODEL ADAPTED TO A FUEL FIRED POWER PLANT IN A CERTAIN REGION TO FORECAST POLLUTION EPISODES. A LAGRANGIAN DIFFUSION MODEL WILL BE ADAPTED TO THE PARTICULAR CONDITIONS OF A FUEL FIRED POWER PLANT IN ITALY FOR WHICH A GOOD SET OF EXPERIMENTAL DATA EXISTS. THEN THE SO2 CONCENTRATIONS PREDICTIONS SHOULD ALLOW TO REDUCE THE EMISSIONS USING A LOW SULPHUR FUEL, WHEN POLLUTION EPISODES ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR.
