FOR ARSENIC, INVESTIGATIONS OF: 1) THE INFLUENCE OF ARSENIC ON THE BIOSYNTHETIC PATWAY OF HEME AND THE METABOLISM OF PORPHYRINS IN ANIMALS, 2) THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEMS IN ANIMALS AND MAN, AFTER CHRONIC LOW-DOSE EXPOSURE TO AS2O3, 3) THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTERNAL DOSE INDICATORS OF ARSENIC AND RENAL TUBULAR FUNCTIONS. FOR VANADIUM: 1) DEVELOPMENT OF ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES FOR MEASUREMENT OF VANADIUM BY ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY, WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO VANADIUM ANALYSIS IN BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES (BLOOD, URINE, HAIR), 2) INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL (AND OCCUPATIONAL) EXPOSURE AND INTERNAL DOSE.
