Objectif THE SUBJECT OF THE PROPOSED R & D WORK IS TO STUDY, DESIGN, CONSTRUCT AND TEST A PILOT 200 KW HIGH TEMPERATURE CERAMIC HEAT EXCHANGER. THIS PROJECT FOLLOWS TWO PREVIOUS PROGRAMS, BOTH FUNDED BY THE EEC, WHICH RESULTED IN THE CONCEPTION OF A 35 KW CERAMIC IMPINGEMENT HEAT EXCHANGER MODULE. THIS MODULE IS CURRENTLY BEING TESTED. THE PROPOSED 200 KW PILOT EXCHANGER WILL BE BUILT BY ASSEMBLING IN A SUITABLE MANNER 6 OF THE ABOVE MODULE. THE PROGRAM WILL BE COMPRISED OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS: - COMPETITIVE REVIEW OF POTENTIAL CONSTRUCTORS WITHIN THE EEC CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SERIES OF MODULES. - COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE PRODUCTION OF CONSTITUENTS IN SERIES OF 30-150, SOLVING OF THE INDUSTRIAL PROBLEMS INVOLVED AND FIRST ASSESSMENT OF COST. DESIGN OF THE ASSEMBLY. - CONSTRUCTION OF THE MODULES AND OF THE 200 KW EXCHANGER, - DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A TEST BENCH CAPABLE OF REPRODUCING INDUSTRIAL EXPLOITATION CONDITIONS, - TEST OF THE 200 KW EXCHANGER AND QUANTIFICATION OF THE PERFORMANCES: HEAT EXCHANGE YIELD, PRESSURE DROP,... - FINAL COST AND MARKETING POTENTIAL ANALYSIS FOR AN INDUSTRIAL HEAT EXCHANGER.
