Cel THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO INVESTIGATE HOW WELL-TESTED WIND TURBINES MANAGE UNDER DIFFERENT TOPOGRAPHIC AND CLIMATIC CONDITIONS WITHIN THE EEC. DURING 1988 IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO USE A 100 KW STALL-REGULATED WIND TURBINE AND A 200 KW PITCH-REGULATED WIND TURBINE OF THE TYPE VESTAS ON EACH SITE . THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE 3 SITES SPREAD WITHIN THE EEC. THE FIRST IS SUSETTER HILL ON SHETLAND WHICH SHALL BE DRIVEN BY NORTH OF SCOTLAND HYDRO-ELECTRIC BOARD. THE OTHER ONE IS CABO VILLANO IN NORTH-WEST OF SPAIN WHICH SHALL BE DRIVEN BY UNION ELECTRICA FENOSA, S.A. THE LAST SITE WILL BE LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF ITALY, BUT THE LOCATION HAS NOT YET BEEN FINALLY DECIDED. METEOROLOGIC DATA AND DATA OF THE WIND TURBINES PRODUCTION AND OPERATION WILL BE COLLECTED BY A DATALOGGER DELIVERED BY LINTRONIC LIMITED. ELSAMPROJEKT A/S IS IN CHARGE OF THE PROGRAMME FOR DATA TRANSFER FROM DATALOGGER VIA A LOCAL PC VIA THE TELEPHONE NETWORK TO A COMMON PC AT ELSAMPROJEKT A/S WHERE THE DATA TREATMENT AND THE REPORTING WILL TAKE PLACE.
