Objetivo The heating of a lighthouse in order to prevent water condensation using a new type of AEROWATT INT wind turbine with increased diameter and nominal power. The aim is to show that the technology exists and that it is feasible to replicate it due to its economic viability.A 10 m diameter, 12 kW AEROWATT wind turbine will be installed near the Faraman lighthouse (cote d'azur) and feed resistance heaters in order to prevent the lighthouse from water saturation by increasing the internal temperature. The upwind machine uses a 6 pole asynchronous generator which will be directly connected to the five 3 kW each resitance heaters. The rotor is based on a 18 m higher tower. The expected annual yield is of the order of 50 MWh.Successful completion of the project will hopefully lead to large number of replications, throughout France and other countries.
