Objetivo To utilise existing irrigation conduits for the production of electricity.This project is to utilise an existing irrigation infrastructure for a hydroelectric station, which will partially offset power used for pumping water in other parts of the system.An added benefit is that the discharge water will flow into the Lake Urbino, which has a very high natural salinity level. The in -flow of a controlled quantity of fresh water will both reduce salinity and increase oxygenation, this improving the lake eco -system and allowing the promotion of agriculture.
