GEOTHERMAL EXPLOITATION AND TELEMONITORING OF DOGGER AQUIFER IN PARIS BASIN

Ziel

To equip 20 geothermal doublets in Paris Basin with pressure sensors chemical captors and corrosimeters. The equipment will be devoted to constant recording of reservoir pressure fluctuations measurements of geothermal water chemism evolution well dammage and thermochemical cinetics of the water.
The telemonitoring and management of the geothermal field (dogger in Paris area) will be realized in real time and computerized data would allow numerical model reservoir simulation.
- The characteristics of the geothermal fluid (sulfide concentration, corrosivity, temperature, pressure) oblige to clean the tested probes too frequently. So far the PH, Em, H2 and HS-2 probes the automatic system cannot be used if there is no heavy maintenance on site.
- Temperature and corrosive characteristics of the brine are responsible to the failure of the two first generations of immerged probes. The longer time life were two years. Since August 1992 a third type of probe is tested (silicium probe) but the long term test results would come later.
- Corrosion probe developed by the CEA (French Atomic Energy Agency) has been tested in two plants. The measured corrosion rate is close to the corrosion rate obtained by ponderal measurements. When the geothermal water is treated with inhibitors this probe can be used for a speedly alarm of a failure in the inhibitor injection device.
- Acquisition software has been specifically developed on PC computers to manage data transfersand storages. Data from the 40 plants are transfered each day or two day over the phone lines using a modem. About 7500 records of 10 to 24 fields of data are checked each time before updating the ASCII/CSV data files. One data file is created each month per site.
- Knowledge base PC software tools developed with PDS Basic and ISAM engine provide the reliabilization of data and the diagnosis of operating cycle plus the elementary numerical model comportment of the geothermal doublets.
- Using the Cased Based Reasoning method (CBR), the system require Expert opinion to endorse solutions proposed by the software. Each validated expertise is then recroded in a knowledge data base.
- Graphic analysis is provided in a separate software capable to treat huges data bases containing several years of data. Any variable can be related simultaneously to four other variables.
Each variable can be a recorded data or a calculated one. Daily, weakly and monthly averages are also maintened in the data base.
The study has two parts : the first concern the study of new sensors used for the operation survey chemical probes (pH, EM, (HS-), H2) - new immerged pressure probe for the measurement of the water level in production well - new corrosion sensor for the measurement of the corrosion rate in the casing. The second concern the development of software able to realize the acquisition of data coming from 40 geothermal doublets operating in Paris area the reliabilization of those data - the automatic analysis of the data.
