DEMONSTRATION OF OFFSHORE WINDFARM CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES USING COMMERCIAL TURBINES WITH SPECIALISED BLADES

Objetivo

To demonstrate the operation of a privately financed offshore 3. 25 MW windfarm for Fjellerup Flak in Denmark.
Innovations: offshore windfarm consisted of commercial WTs, new foundations and erection techniques and new blade construction.

7 Nordtank 450 kW will be installed 3,4 km offshore where waterdepth is 5 m.
The windfarm is connected to a 60 KV transformer situated 12 kms from Fjellerup Flak.
The WTs are commercial with 30 m rotor diameter and 30 m towers based on caisson-type foundations manufactured onshore and floated to the site and filled up with sand, gravel etc. WTs will have blades constructed for offshore installation. Erection technique on fleets. Fibre optics for data transfer integrated in cable.
The windfarm is estimated to have a yearly output of 9. 150 MWh. The demonstration phase will last two years and will permit to evaluate among others the commercial viability of similar offshore windfarms and their economic perspectives.
For the realization of this project NORDTANK will cooperate with the civil engineering company Ramboell and Hannemann.
