HYBRID SOLAR SYSTEM TO COVER A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF HEATING AND COOLING NEEDS OF A HOTEL COMPLEX

Objective

Use of a hybrid solar system for heating and cooling of a hotel complex in Chania on Crete. Combination of passive solar elements and active air collectors used for space heating DHW heating and storage in a silicage-water storage unit.

Six individual building are planned with a total solar collector area of 67.8 m2. The floor area to be heated is 1119 m2. The south facing windows (sesw) have a total surface of 61 m2. The total silicagel storage is 15 t. The hotel has 58 beds and its own restaurant. Innovative design and controlling of the hotels energy demand.
