Obiettivo To gain experience and demonstrate the first 500 kW WT for Greece, to prove its economic viability and to test the design specifications of the innovative features of the WT.The Windmaster proposed WT is the first 500 kW WT to be installed in Sitia, on Crete. The produced electricity will be used by the local agency for the development of Sitia. WT: 500 kW, 40m rotor diam. asynchr. generator, upwind with passive yaw system, parallel shaft two stage gear.Innovation : rotor with central steel section and two wood epoxy tip sections (55% of rotor radius), gearbox compliant and flexibly supported by reaction arms and springs, passive yaw for such size.
