PV GRID BOOSTER IN RURAL REGION

Ziel

To improve the quality of power for consumers at the end of a long grid line : voltage regulations, flattening of line characteristics, improvement of grid availability, optimisation of demand and provision of minimum service in case of total line failure.
The cost of the pv system should be economically comparable with a new high voltage line. The boosting of the grid by a pv plant is innovative.

A 150 kWp array and batteries are linked to the grid in order to provide additional power at times of peak demand. The objective is to flatten the power curve, to improve the grid tension and to optimize the photovoltaic generation. Simulation studies have been used for the design. The exact layout will be determined in the first phases of the project.

Inv. power (kW) : two units of 150 kVA, (50 kVA per phase) Load descript. : boosting the 380 V ac three phase grid of Maria and other villages, that have peak loads during the evening of 480 kW and a daily average of 260 kW.
