SOLAR ENERGY FOR MOUNTAIN FARMING IN RHONE-ALPES

Objectif

Fiftythree pv installations for lighting, radio-telephone, household appliances, and water treatment (ultraviolet irridiation) are installed in Alpine farms, huts and shelters in the region Rhone-Alpes, used only during summer. About ten times as much potential other sites exist in this region.
The project will provide design and maintenance protocols for systems that are used only in summer months.
The project comprises 55 pv powered installations in medium and high altitude farms in the Alpes. 33 have UV water sterilisation. About hall of the installations have also thermal crop dryers installed. Total installed PV capacity is 7650 Wp, but will generate less than 3000 kWh per year because the systems are used only in summer. 10% only of the systems will be monitored (by the global method).
