Objective Because needs in employment and qualification are identical on both sides of the Pyrenean border, we decided to establish common training certificates for maintenance of agricultural machinery. These basic and ongoing education certificates are achieved through sandwich courses and cover qualifications ranging from those required from junior level worker to those required from an engineer. MAIN DOMAIN OF INNOVATION: Innovative training needs analysis with a special focus on core/key qualifications. Analysing new skills profiles was first carried out at a regional scale and then at a national scale. TARGET GROUP(S): People working in SMEs. Young people in initial training/education. Craft enterprises, apprentices, employees in SME's. OPERATING CONTEXT: Technology transfer. Raising qualifications. Training in traditional technologies (hydrolics,...) and embarked electronics.
