GULWESS-PROP addresses important goals concerning decarbonised transportation in Europe.

The project aims at designing a commercial solution of efficient on-board energy storage for electrically propelled vehicles. The action analysed different types of vehicles and focused on UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), hydrogen storage technologies and trends in UAV propulsion.

The main goal is to substitute on-board electrical batteries and hydrogen storage with the METALIQ-PROP technology capable of generating in-situ on-demand hydrogen.
We have performed a complete study to evaluate technical viability as well as sustainability and profitability of the proposed solution (including an analysis of risks).

The study has taken into account the analysis of the product portfolio, industrial manufacturing strategy, scale up design, marketing, sales and distribution strategy and post-sale technical support, maintenance and cartridges refilling strategies.

The main results are: a complete analysis to facilitate the penetration into the Market of the proposed solution; and a business plan.
Tangible outcomes:
- A mature, CE-marking and proven METALIQ-PROP Portfolio for unmanned and electric vehicles.
- A METALIQ-PROP Product portfolio that provides hydrogen storage systems that surpass the performances of the competitors and the current technological barrier of 550 wh/Kg for gravitational energy densities.


Potential impact:
- The project will boost industry capabilities and will position EU at the top of hydrogen storage systems.
- A free-carbon society.
