Deliverables

  • Food regulatory status of the chemicals for HNT modification or as active substances

The food regulatory status of the chemicals intended for use in HNT modification or as active substances will be recorded. This will included a check of all substances for listing in the EU- Plastics Regulation No. 10/2011 or the Food Additives Regulation No. 13333/2008, Flavouring Regulations No 1334/2008, 872/2012, for any other approvals in EU, member states or USA, existing evaluations (e.g. by EFSA, German BfR, FDA), available summaries of toxicological data (e.g. at ECHA). An evaluation on not yet approved substances will be provided regarding their perspective for approval based on the available data and a preliminary estimate on toxicology data gaps will be given as well. All will be used for the Dossier in order to obtain a food contact approval for active packaging.

  • Report on ensuring compliance with ethics requirements and updated regulatory requirement on safety related to engineered nanoparticles and –materials

A report on ensuring compliance with ethics requirements and updated regulatory requirement on safety related to engineered nanoparticles and –materials, in particular with regard to EC Regulation (EC) No 450/2009 of 29 May 2009 on active and intelligent materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

  • Assessment plan for food products packaged in NanoPack films

An assessment plan for the antimicrobial activity of NanoPack films will be designed to test the film for foodborne pathogens including bacteria and fungus.

  • Establishing governance structure

A report confirming the Governance structure, including organizations and persons within these organizations as explained in the structure, as well as the roles, responsibilities and activities of the different committees and other decision rules.

  • Communication plan

A communication and dissemination plan defining key messages, positioning statements and target audiences, and selecting appropriate tools and channels (including relevant conferences and events) to meet the information needs of the target audiences. This plan will be divided among activities to be carried out by EUFIC for dissemination on a Europe-wide basis, and activities to be carried out by individual partners within their own countries and local stakeholder networks.

  • A project identity and specific project website

A corporate identity for NanoPack will be developed to ensure a common graphic line (project leaflet, website, presentation templates etc.) for all communications material produced by the consortium. A specific website for the project will be set-up and maintained by EUFIC for the duration of the project and for a further 3years after the project completion. Its structure will be: i) An external website (accessible to everyone) that will be the main information resource of the project (describing project objectives, partners, work areas and results. An external website (accessible to everyone) will be the main information resource of the project (describing project objectives, work areas, results and partners. ii) An additional internal platform or extranet (restricted area), designed and used to share preliminary results and internal documents (e.g. working papers, deliverables progress, calendar of events) amongst project partners, the Scientific Advisory Board and the European Commission Officers.
