DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES

Charge@Home is a software solution that allows DSOs to manage EV loads in an efficient way. The solution enables to monitor the grid in real-time and compute the available instantaneous grid capacity hence enabling smart charging and VGI (Vehicle Grid Integration) services. The main objective of ISME phase 1 is to bring Charge@Home to market.
SUMMARY OF THE WORK PERFORMED

Definition of a roadmap for Charge@Home solution and analysis of the scalability needs to reach the EU market.
Analysis of the electricity framework, the EV regulatory framework and Smart Grids investment at EU level.
Study of the policy decision making system.
Market analysis focused on Vehicle Grid Integration and Smart Grids. 4 EU countries with high potential for Charge@Home uptake have been identified: The Netherlands, Spain, Germany and France.
Definition of a deep exploitation & commercialisation plan including financial needs.
Participation in dissemination events:
An investors pitch event at the Transport Research Arena event held in Vienna on 16th April 2018.
An event organized by the Basque Government in London in order to explore and promote business opportunities in the Energy Industry between Basque and British companies on April 11th.
Besides, Ariadna has been invited to a pitch event hosted by BMW Startup Garage in Munich on May 14th.
A promoting video has been produced to promote the solution.
Definition of a commercial agreement with Gorlan Team in order to leverage on their extensive sales network.
Further actions regarding IP protection have been considered to ensure the knowledge exclusivity and commercial launching.
MAIN RESULTS ACHIEVED

The feasibility study has provided us with means to broaden our knowledge on Vehicle Grid Integration of which Charge@home solution is a key component. The market and the EU is pushing for a massive EV uptake, and there is a real industry need for a solution that allows to manage EV peak load efficiently.
It has also allowed us to understand the market conditions and the business plan we need to carry out in order to succeed. There is no company today filling the gap between the DSO and EV charging point. There is a clear opportunity window and we are very well placed to be amongst the first players to fill this gap.
