Descripción del proyecto DEENESFRITPL Solución automática para la detección de la retinopatía diabética Diversas enfermedades crónicas, como la diabetes, producen cambios en la microvasculatura de la retina. La detección de estos cambios se produce mediante el examen y el cribado de la retina, lo que requiere unos profesionales sanitarios con experiencia y competencias específicas. El aumento de la prevalencia de la diabetes hace que los sistemas sanitarios de todo el mundo tengan problemas para satisfacer las demandas de los pacientes, por lo que es necesario recurrir a enfoques automatizados. El proyecto financiado con fondos europeos RETINAL ha desarrollado una solución TIC rentable y no invasiva formada por un dispositivo de captura de imágenes digitales, una plataforma de gestión de datos de los pacientes y un «software» de inteligencia artificial especializado en la detección de la retinopatía diabética. El «software» permite cuantificar parámetros retinianos y detectar lesiones de la enfermedad. Su aplicación en centros de atención primaria hará que la detección de la retinopatía diabética sea más accesible y, en consecuencia, más eficaz para los pacientes.
