Cel PHASE A: NPP-ANALYSIS BASING ON THE EXPERIENCE GAINED FROM SOURCE TERM ANALYSIS AND THE ACC. EXPERT DISCUSSIONS THE RELEVANT EX-VESSEL PARAMETERS DURING A COURSE OF A SEVERE ACCIDENT IN LWR'S WILL BE IDENTIFIED AND DESCRIBED. THIS WILL BE DONE FOR THE THERMODYNAMIC IN THE CONTAINMENT AS WELL AS THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE FISSON PRODUCTS WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS TO HYDROGEN PROBLEMS AND AEROSOL INCL. IODINE CONCENTRATION. PHASE B: EXPERIMENTAL FACILITY ANALYSIS BASING ON THE RESULTS OF THE NPP-ANALYSIS FROM PHASE A CALCULATIONS ARE PLANNED TO COMPREHEND THE EX-VESSEL SYSTEM BEHAVIOUR. ONE ANALYSIS WILL BE PERFORMED CALCULATING THE THERMODYNAMIC CONDITIONS WITHIN THE CONTAINMENT USING THE KWU-CODE WAVCO AS WELL AS THE GRS-CODE RALOC, COMPARING THE RESULTS OF A TEST CALCULATED WITH DIFFERENT CODE SYSTEMS. THIS ANALYSIS WILL BE COMPLETED WITH A NAUA-CODE CALCULATION OF THE FISSION PRODUCT BEHAVIOUR, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE IODINE CODE IMPAIR, IF NECESSARY. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE FIRST PHASE IS TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN PHENOMENA PREDICTED TO OCCUR IN CORE REGION, COOLANT SYSTEM, AND CONTAINMENT OF FULL SCALE PWR AND BWR DURING SEVERE ACCIDENT SEQUENCES. THE ACCIDENT SEQUENCES TO BE CONSIDERED ARE THE HIGH PRESSURE AND LOW PRESSURE PATH WITH CONTAINMENT FAILURE AS WELL AS INTERFACIAL SYSTEM LOCA WITH CONTAINMENT BYPASS. THE ESTIMATED ENVIRONMENTAL RELEASE AND PROBABILITY OF SEQUENCE WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION FOR THE SELECTION OF ACCIDENT SEQUENCES. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE SECOND PHASE IS TO SIMULATE THE IDENTIFIED PHENOMENA WITHIN THE SPECIFIED RANGE OF PARAMETERS USING THE CODE SYSTEM ATHLET-SA FOR THE IN-VESSEL ANALYSIS AND THE CODES RALOC, RALOC-COMB. AND NAUA FOR THE EX-VESSEL ANALYSIS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE STPC IN- AND EX-VESSEL ANALYSIS WILL BE THE COMPARISON OF THE PHEBUS TEST FACILITY AND GERMAN PWR SYSTEM BEHAVIOUR.
