Project description
Promoting science in Southern Italy
In the Calabria region in Southern Italy, three universities and six national research institutions are participating in the events organised by the EU-funded SuperScienceMe project, as part of the European Researchers’ Night. The aim is to create opportunities for matching researchers and citizens, and in particular young people. For instance, a researcher will be invited to play the role of a superhero and to explain science in a simple way through interactive and fun activities. The list of activities includes more than 100 guided tours of science laboratories, research centres and museums. An exhibition will also be set up to host spin-off companies and research start-ups, as well as other innovative companies and social actors. Finally, there will also be an initiative to bring research to the paediatric wards of local hospitals, and an effort to engage the disabled.
