Project description
A digital path to preserving cultural heritage
Advances in digital technologies offer unprecedented opportunities for the preservation of Europe’s tangible cultural heritage – the countless physical artefacts produced, maintained and transmitted intergenerationally in society. The list includes artistic creations, built heritage and other physical or tangible products that are vulnerable and exposed to environmental, anthropogenic or biological hazards. In this context, the EU-funded CHANGE project will take digitisation to a new level. It will explore digital datasets for deeper analysis and interpretation. The project’s overall goal is to develop methodologies for the assessment of changes in cultural heritage objects by comparing and combining digital datasets captured at different time periods.
