Material combinations for automotive applications
Future electronic smart systems (ESSs) in automotive applications should sense their environment, locally store and process data, and communicate via a network with other objects. The EU-funded BeforeHand project will establish the foundations of a new technology to perform in networks of ESSs. The technology will exploit the capacity of phase-change materials to store and process information in the same physical place. The team will develop new material combinations with the best material evaluation for automotive applications and implement a demonstrator with processing and storage capability to be integrated into automotive IoT smart devices. BeforeHand is involved in materials development, device preparation and functionality in terms of memory devices and data processing devices.
