Building a virtual structural engineer

Your house may look like a static structure, but it is constantly affected by even the slight vibration of a moving car or a strong wind. It is important for engineers to be able to record the movement of buildings using structural risk assessment tools. The EU-funded FORSEES project is taking this analysis to a new level. It is laying the foundation for artificial intelligence (AI) to diagnose the real-time health of living architectures. The project is developing a computer vision device to help engineers develop a sixth sense for real-time structural analyses, building risk perception and architectures’ performance investigation.
