Project description

English EN

Migrant home-making

The recent and very sharp increase in the number of migrants arriving in the European Union lifted the issue of integration high on the bloc’s policy agenda. Integration policies aim to bolster social cohesion and the performance of the immigrant population. The EU-funded YOUTH-HOME project will examine the home-making process – how migrants mould their new surroundings to create a feeling of home. It will use innovative mixed methodology to study the home-making practices of young male migrants in Ireland. The results will provide local, national and European policymakers with a deeper understanding about migrant youth integration policies.
