Project description
Identity verification made easy to smooth the border crossing experience
Border authorities seek to improve their capabilities and capacities to respond to emerging threats in document and identity verification. The EU-funded D4FLY project will develop a set of tools and systems to address those threats. Research will be done towards verification of travellers' identities by comparing a combination of iris, 3D face, 2D thermal face, body shape and physique data against pre-enrolled reference data also using innovative light field cameras. An advanced document verification system will verify several physical and electronic security characteristics, reveal complicated types of electronic fraud and morphed face images, and detect fraud in breeder documents. The D4FLY innovative solution will include a border control kiosk, smartphone apps and an on-the-move system.
