Governing activation in Ireland: comparing Ireland's mixed-economy of public employment services

Project description

Shedding light on the impact of Ireland’s PES reforms

The overall architecture of Ireland’s public employment services (PES) has changed due to recent reforms. It is unclear, however, how these reforms have impacted the reintegration of the long-term unemployed into the labour market. Addressing this issue, the EU-funded GAII project will carry out a comparative study of PES contracting in Ireland, which will include cross-sectoral secondments. The project’s work will elucidate the impact of marketisation on the reintegration of disadvantaged social groups into the labour market and provide answers as to how welfare reforms have contributed to the attainment of key strategies.
