Project description

English EN

Delving into differentia during early Christianity

Differentia is part of scholastic logic. It is a concept that predicates differentiation. Christian thought is also subject to differentia, and the EU-funded project INdifference explores how the philosophical notion penetrated Christian thought and became the cardinal idea for the determination of orthodoxy during the theological debates about the nature of Christ. This is an unprecedented interdisciplinary study, designed to disclose unknown chapters in the history of both theology and philosophy. It will also add support to the theories that doctrinal wars outside philosophy were waged and settled by adopting and developing the tools of logic.
