Massive MIMO is a big deal for IoT security

With billions of internet-connected devices in use today, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a reality. With the number growing by the day, these machines are in our homes, our factories, hospitals, schools and shops. In fact, IoT is everywhere. The big issue now is security and privacy, and applying today’s cryptographic techniques in IoT. The EU-funded MAMONET project will look into physical layer security (PhySec) that exploits the randomness of the wireless channel to provide secure transmissions. It will develop PhySec techniques that can benefit from massive MIMO (M-MIMO) technology – next generation networks that can ensure secure communication links over IoT networks.
