Project description

English EN

Adaptative microorganic resource development

Scientists’ search for novel renewable resources has made some turn to microorganisms, which can be used to manufacture many chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fuels, food and feed ingredients. This extremely expensive process is unsustainable. The EU-funded BREEDER project will use natural adaptive laboratory evolution to select clean, desirable organisms from genotypes produced in iterative cycles via digitalisation and the innovating technologies from Altar. Thanks to these, a new economical R&D service technology that directs the evolution of microorganisms for advanced services in strain development will be produced.
