Project description

Digitalisation for better agriculture

Digitalisation is a growing part of the agriculture sector and key to improving the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Thanks to digitalisation, CAP administration costs are diminished while sustainability and competitiveness improve. The role of the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) in European agriculture is instrumental as it constitutes the basis for agricultural subventions. The EU-funded NIVA project is based on interactive planning to ensure faster turnaround, increased flexibility and further participation of stakeholders. The project is undertaken by nine EU member administrations at national, multi-national and pan-European levels. It aims to accelerate innovation, diminish administrative obstacles, support cooperation in an innovative environment, and increase the flow of information to all stakeholders.
