Developing an Innovation-Friendly Legislative Culture – the Innovation Principle at Work

Project description

EU legislation in service of innovation

The rapid advancement of innovative technology is actually creating a stress on citizens’ needs and business creativity. Adequate legislation that encourages innovation is necessary. For instance, EU legislation does not match the rapid changes in advanced digital technology. The EU-funded Innovation Principle project aims to support the creation of a legal framework at both EU and the national level to facilitate innovation. For this purpose, an international conference will be held in Helsinki in December 2019 during the Finnish Presidency of the EU Council. The conference will study how regulations can facilitate the creation of markets for innovations and detect areas where regulations can help drive further innovation.
