Setting up the ERA Chair of Comparative Medicine in the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Estonian University of Life Sciences

Project description

An ERA for therapies applicable to humans and animals

Humans and animals suffer from many of the same diseases. Studying and treating animal patients can therefore help us gain insight into therapies that could prove beneficial to both humans and animals. With this in mind, the EU-funded COMBIVET project aims to establish a European Research Area (ERA) Chair of Comparative Medicine at the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The Chair will advance research in this field by improving the recruited ERA team’s knowledge and skills in comparative medicine, developing related databases and animal models, and making the Chair sustainable beyond the project’s lifetime.
