A novel training network is fostering skills to exploit big data for personalised medicine
Rapid technological and medical advances have paved the way to high throughput methodologies and the generation of tremendous amounts of biomedical data and libraries. Exploiting all this data and turning it into useful information requires powerful computing and advanced programming, modelling and analytics. Further, exploiting such data on an individual basis paves the way to personalised or precision medicine based on an intricate understanding of the patients’ disease and disease process. TranSYS is providing a turbo-boost to a new field at the intersection of translational medicine and systems analytics. The project is training young researchers in interdisciplinary tools needed to take healthcare from the bench to an individual's bedside with the help of big data analysis.
