Project description
The soap you always wanted
Sold quickly and at a relatively low cost, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) like food, personal care products, household goods, and clothing are continually trying to spot the next trend in the market. One challenge is how to innovate faster to meet consumer demands. In this context, the EU-funded DIY4U project will develop collaborative production engineering approaches in the FMCG sector. The aim is to facilitate the rapid production and commercialisation of new personalised or customised products. Specifically, the project will focus on detergents and soaps – a lucrative market but also the most complex FMCGs to formulate. The idea is to enable consumers to design and make a personal version of a soap or washing powder.
