Project description
IIoT with a digital twin to maintain manufacturing industry
The Internet of Things (IoT) offers numerous solutions for industry. Industrial IoT (IIoT) lets devices acquire and analyse data from connected equipment, operational technology, locations and people to regulate and monitor industrial systems. It can offer even more if interconnected with other systems. The EU funded VIMS project aims to develop a ground-breaking digital ecosystem for entire industrial and manufacturing maintenance systems. VIMS will link the IIoT platform with its virtual replica – the digital twin of the production line. Via data analyses through machine learning and artificial intelligence, it will obtain a wholistic picture. Augmented reality and virtual reality will then permit remotely controlled predictive and optimised maintenance processes. This solution will be compatible with wide-ranging industries.
