Project description
EU action for safe potable water and marine ecosystems
One of the most serious risks for our water bodies and oceans and consequently human health derives from the occurrence of emerging pollutants and pathogens, especially antimicrobial resistant bacteria in the environment. The EU-funded AquaticPollutants project is a cofund that will develop a common strategy between three joint programming initiatives (JPIs) dealing with emerging pollutants, pathogens and antimicrobial resistance in the whole water cycle – from ‘source to mouth’. It will coordinate resources from 26 countries to leverage untapped potential in the collaboration between the freshwater, marine and health research areas. The project will reinforce European research and international collaboration between the freshwater, marine and health research areas.
