Fostering Earth Observation market uptake thanks to natural and holistic access to added value data generated through cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technologies

Project description

Can cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies foster the Earth observation market?

Earth observation (EO) technologies are taking on a new value with the EU-funded SnapEarth project. The project will allow the market to shift from analysing EO Big Data to analysing data in motion – Fast Data. The project aims to use data effectively to make key decisions, and anticipate future priorities by influencing artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and tools. The major breakthrough comes with EarthSignature, a new data analytics service that aims to automatically extract semantic information from satellite imagery. The extracted information is then indexed by the Qwant search engine, the database being real-time enriched and made easily accessible to a wide range of user communities.
