Healthcare innovation in regional environments
EU Framework Programmes are particularly sensitive to the impacts scientific research and technological development have on society. Responsible research and innovation (RRI) can significantly support interconnections between healthcare research, innovation policies and testing practices. The EU-funded CHERRIES project is a consortium consisting of 12 institutions that include prestigious universities, research organisations, SMEs, healthcare institutions and regional authorities from seven EU Member States. The project practices RRI processes and supports healthcare-related innovations in regional environments, aiming to detect those innovations suitable for successful marketisation. The project will conduct the first pilot tests in three EU regions, to be followed by another three. CHERRIES will contribute to producing positive societal, democratic, environmental and scientific effects on the piloted territories.
