Improving the availability of energy data
The central role that data play in energy research and analysis cannot be underestimated. Data are crucial but difficult to collect from different repositories. A lack of energy data reduces the efficiency of both research and energy management. The EU-funded EnerMaps project will work to improve data access and use by the renewable technology industry, energy planners, consultants and researchers as well as by policymakers and public administrations. In particular, the project will establish two freely accessible to users and interconnected instruments providing a significant number of energy datasets and quality-check selection of critical data. In collaboration with the European Open Science Cloud Initiative, it will increase scientific communication of the newly created datasets.
