MANufacture et Innovation avec FIbres de CArbone recyclées (Manufacturing and Innovation with Recycled Carbon Fibers)

Project description

A carbon fibre recycling chain for the aeronautical industry

Carbon fibre recycling is a challenging process that can add value to the recycling industry. The EU-funded MANIFICA Recycling project intends to establish the recycling chain of carbon fibre composites of aeronautic waste to derive innovative and high-quality composite parts. The project will take into consideration the entire process from logistics to recycling and production of ready-to-use semi-products to new recycled carbon fibre-based industrial tests. MANIFICA Recycling is advanced by a consortium consisting of the University of Bordeaux and two industrial leaders in carbon fibres and waste treatment, envisaging to propose an efficient and simple sorting scenario. The sorting method will be performed and the waste collected at an industrial scale directly for the aeronautical industry.
